Cabinet MERLIN was founded in 1922 , and participated actively to develop water supply, sanitation and solid waste management services in local communities.

The Merlin Group was created in 1999 to organise Cabinet Merlin's development. The company Cabinet MERLIN is still the main company in the Merlin Group. Former local branches (subsidiaries) of Cabinet MERLIN can now be considered as "sister-companies", under a Holding company (Holding Cabinet Merlin). Except for ICEA, all sister-companies work as Consultant Engineers in the same fields of activities as Cabinet MERLIN :

Merlin Group today is :

a multi-disciplinary 500 permanent staff,
consolidated turnover € 40 millions,
32 local branches demonstrating CM's commitments to local clients,
independence from any operating company, construction firm or financial group (100% of the shares belong to the company staff, 90% to Pierre Merlin, chairman)
partner Consultant offices in many countries.
